DESCRIPTION:Annual Community Reception & Book Signing\n\n\n\nIn our after-school character and civic education program\, students in Arizona schools interview veterans\, research history\, and write & publish the veteran's experiences in an annual volume of our hardbound book\, Since You Asked (SYA). VHP works with student to plan and host a free Community Reception and Book Signing to honor the veterans in the current year's volume\, A Salute to Cold War Veterans\, and present the editions.  This year's program includes patriotic music\, student emcees\, student scholarships\, recognition of all veterans in the room\, a keynote presentation from COL (Ret.) James (Jim) Kelsey\, a Vietnam veteran who also served in leadership levels in military intelligence during the Cold War\, and a book signing.  Attendees have the opportunity to purchase a book\, and thank each veteran for their service as they sign the pages of their service story.
